This savory biscuit is a great addition to any breakfast or brunch.
|1½ cups (195g)||all-purpose flour|
|2 tsp. (9.8g)||baking powder|
|1 tsp. (5g)||salt|
|⅛ tsp. (0.2g)||cayenne pepper|
|3 oz. (85g)||Plugrá® Premium Butter, unsalted, chilled, cut into small dice|
|1 tbsp. (3g)||chopped chives|
|¾ cup (85g)||shredded sharp cheddar cheese|
|1 cup + 1 tbsp. (267g)||heavy cream|
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cayenne.
Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Stir in the chives and cheese.
Add the cream; stir until the mixture comes together.
Divide the dough into 8 portions (80 g each) and drop onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the bottoms are browned and the biscuits are cooked through.
Serve with salted Plugrá butter and maple syrup, if desired.
