Butter Toasted Oatmeal

Toast rolled oats in a bit of Plugrà butter before making your cooked oatmeal cereal. This little step adds browned butter flavor and a rich, nutty cooked goodness. Finish with a sprinkle of brown sugar or cinnamon and you win breakfast.

Ingredients

2 tbsp Plugrà® salted butter
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 1/4 cups warm water or milk

Optional

Pinch brown sugar
Pinch cinnamon

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook Plugrà® salted butter and oats, stirring often, until butter is browning and the oats smell fragrant, 6 to 8 minutes.

Add the warm water or milk and stir. Increase heat as needed to bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat, cover pan and let simmer slowly for about 12 minutes.

Turn off heat and let sit, covered for 7 more minutes.

Serve with milk, topped with extra Plugrà® butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon if desired.
