The perfect, simple flavored butter recipe. Perfect for brunch entertaining!


  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds only
  • 1/4 pound butter, unsalted, softened
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom, ground
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1 pinch salt


  1. Carefully split the vanilla bean lengthwise and gently scrape out seeds; set aside.
  2. Whip butter until smooth and light.
  3. Add all ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Remove butter from bowl and spoon onto parchment paper. Roll into a log, using edge of baking sheet to form a tight log.
  5. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
