Cranberry-Onion Sauce

Cranberry-Onion Sauce

This sauce is delicious served with poultry or game birds.


  • 4 cups cranberries
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 cups onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Butter unsalted


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except onions and butter. Bring to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes until cranberries pop open.
  2. In a separate pan, sauté onions in butter until soft.
  3. Add to cranberries and puree in a blender or food mill.
